Job Description

 
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Under the direction of the Department Manager, the
Machine Operator ensures the production of company products at the
highest quality and at the lowest possible cost, meeting company
policies and procedures. The Machine Operator will act in a manner that
is consistent with Gordon Aluminum\'s Customer 1st Philosophy. This list
of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded
to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem
necessary from time to time. The general purpose of the Machine Operator
is to operate machines to perform one or more machine functions on metal
work pieces. Maintaining safe work habits and a work area abiding by all
safety policies Lift and load work pieces into the machine Takes the
first part to QC Lab for first piece inspection approval (Must be able
to operate Portage Table) or get assistants from Quality Tech Sets
approved first piece at the machine center for reference until job is
completed Checks all the dimensions and Process notes specified on the
In-Process Inspection Report (Deburring countersink, or other minor
operations to finish the piece) Performs final piece count, print tag
and enter production in Shop-Trak when the order is done Performs
required cleaning of machine and area Performs any and all other duties

Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education
degree (GED) Physical Demands refers to the level and/or duration of
physical exertion generally required to perform occupational takes
(sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing and
pulling). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
frequently required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, talk or
hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, walk, stoop, kneel,
crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift up to 25 pounds and
