Director, Resource Advisory Practice

What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for highly experienced professionals to provide key leadership within the Firm’s Resource Advisory Practice.  Lynch Consultants (LC) is growing: we are staffing new contracts within the Department of Defense (DoD) and Health and Human Services (HHS).  The role requires proven expertise developing and delivering high-level support.  This may include either providing audit sustainment and remediation services, or performing a financial statement audit for a US Federal Agency.  This is a crucial role working directly with the Firm Partners.  You will be intimately involved helping to execute all aspects of LC2030, the strategic plan of the Firm that will see us grow to 500 associates.  This role is a partner-track position for the right person.

Requirements:

  • US Citizenship (Required).
  • BA/BS Degree (Required).
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
  • Ten (10) or more years’ total experience in the Federal workspace (Required).
  • Eight (8) or more years of federal government accounting or audit experience, or
  • Eight (8) or more years preparing or auditing financial statements and the accompanying footnotes.
  • Experience in conducting Risk Assessments and Internal Control reviews in accordance with the GAO Green Book, OMB Circular A-123, and DoD RMIC guidance.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and written.
  • Experience reviewing complex financial and accounting transactions and extensive historical records relating to calculating general ledger balances, emphasizing investment accounting, and preparing journal entries utilizing the financial accounting system.
  • Experience managing or coordinating the activities of Accountants and/or Auditors, serving as a group leader or coordinator acting as liaison with clients.
  • Experience in providing financial transaction research and analysis activities, which may include the review of individual project work papers and all documentation necessary to
  • Must currently be employed as a Senior Manager or Director at a management consulting firm or IPA directly supporting a U.S. Federal Agency financial management or audit engagement.
  • Must live in the greater Washington DC region: DC, MD, or VA. The position currently requires the team to work from the client site 2 days a week. The candidate must be available to meet the client and client leadership in person as requested.

Preferred:

  • CDFM and/or CGFM certification.
  • Master’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field.
  • Experience with federal PP&E issues.
  • Experience in the use of federal financial accounting systems.
