JOB SUMMARY:
As a Sr Accountant specializing in acquisitions, you will play a pivotal role in the company's growth strategy by managing financial aspects of the acquisition process. You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency throughout all stages of the acquisition lifecycle. Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Sr Accountant will support the acquisition process, including assisting with due diligence, recording purchase accounting and leading post-acquisition financial integration. This position ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. The Sr Accountant will also assist with the annual audit and other ad hoc projects as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business development, Insurance, Treasury, to facilitate the acquisition process (due diligence and integration). Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies throughout the transaction.
2. Responsible for purchase accounting and proper integration of acquired school transactions.
3. Coordinate with seller on post-acquisition true up.
4. Represents the accounting team on internal acquisition calls.
5. Continuously review and improve acquisition processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Implement best practices and standardize processes across acquisitions.
6. Supports the accounting team with journal entries, reconciliations, and other procedures.
7. Keeps records to ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and consolidating transactions. Maintains and balances accounts by reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
8. Reviews and analyzes financial statements for discrepancies or other issues. Applies professional judgment in the performance of the role.
9. Assists with the annual audit by providing supporting schedules and answering questions as applicable.
10. Establishes and maintains good working relationships with all levels of management and key stakeholders, including but not limited to Business development team, Integration team, Insurance, FP&A, AP, and AR. Supports our field operations and other departments by answering questions and providing requested information timely.
11. Assist with other ad hoc projects as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: | • Must have the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment dealing with priorities & deadlines. |
Education or equivalency: | • Requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work. |
Experience: | • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. |
Specialized training: | • Public accounting experience preferred |
Certification/licensure: | • CPA preferred |
