Finance Manager - Corporate Accounting, Treasury & Benefits
OVERVIEW:
As a Manager in the Corporate Accounting team, you will have the opportunity to lead accounting and controls processes supporting our Treasury and Benefits functions and contribute to key enterprise initiatives with an objective of optimizing General Mills' capital structure and achieving top-tier shareholder returns. By supporting the Treasury and Benefits functions, you will provide expertise on accounting and control processes related to subject matter including financing, investing, and equity transactions, financial instruments, benefit plans, and stock compensation. You will partner with multiple internal and external teams to maintain external financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements while utilizing your financial acumen and people management skills. You also will have the opportunity to contribute to broader Corporate Controllers' team initiatives including quarterly SEC filings.
This role offers many unique developmental and leadership opportunities, including:
Serve as the Corporate Accounting lead for technical accounting and controls matters supporting Treasury and Benefits functions
Strengthening people management skills through day-to-day coaching and leadership of direct and indirect reports as well as third-party partners
Frequent exposure to senior leaders within Treasury, Corporate Finance, HR-Benefits, and Global Accounting Operations, among others
Deepening accounting, control, and financial reporting technical expertise from both recurring and nonrecurring activities
Leading process improvement in support of our continuous optimization of our global operating model to achieve best-in-class processes and results

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Operational Leadership
Oversee and lead the daily operations and accounting results of the Corporate Accounting-Treasury & Benefits teams, which includes accounting and controls process ownership for the areas of financing, investing, and equity transactions, financial instruments, benefit plans, and stock compensation.
Lead and coach the Corporate Accounting-Treasury & Benefits teams day-to-day.
Serve as the technical inquiry and escalation point of subject matter expertise within the Corporate Accounting team.
Monitor and review results completed by outsourced partners and centers of excellence to ensure processes accurately meet the Global Accounting Organization's needs. Oversee third-party consultants and advisors for both routine and non-routine activities.
Oversee Corporate Accounting related external financial reporting and other required reporting, including benefit plan reporting. Contribute to quarterly SEC filings and related external reporting.
Lead process improvement in support of our global operating model. Ensure the right work is performed at the right place to support the model. Proactively identify where work can be automated, standardized, and centralized to further streamline processes, strengthen financial controls, and most effectively support our key business partners.
Strategic/Organizational Leadership
Focus on strategic partnership with key business partners in support of the Global Accounting Organization's Long-Range Plan.
Help to build deep functional and technical excellence within the Corporate Accounting team on accounting and controls competencies.
Partner with Global Accounting Organization teams to assess impacts of changing business activities to accounting process, reporting process and controls, and contribute to adequate solutions to meet business need.
Lead process and governance excellence in our dynamic global accounting & controls environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
CPA
B.S. in Accounting
6+ years relevant experience
Aptitude for broad US GAAP subject matter including codification research and documentation experience
Results-oriented, proactive, agile
Experience managing people
Ability to develop and coach technical talent
Process and process improvement driven mindset
Highly organized and able to manage and prioritize changing workload
Ability to work with and influence different stakeholders
English proficiency required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's in Accounting
Big Four public accounting firm or large global company experience
Demonstrated leadership skills with proven expertise supervising management and professional level staff
Creative, flexible, and strategic change focused
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:
International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $104700.00 - $157200.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
