helping our healthcare partners thrive. Position Summary A postdoctoral
position is available at NIH-funded lab to study the role of HEMOLYSIS
in promoting Liver and kidney injury in SICKLE CELL DISEASE. The lab is
interested in studying the role of hemolysis induced heme-iron
-hemoglobin accumulation and associated liver-kidney and splenic injury
in Sickle Cell Disease. Previous experience in mice surgery or
intravital microscopy, microfluidic platforms, and a strong background
in hemoglobin-heme-iron clearance, liver biology, and sterile
inflammation, receptor ligand interaction and endocytosis is highly
preferred. Our labs are located in the Versiti Blood Research Institute
(VBRI) of the Blood Center of Wisconsin in Milwaukee
(https://versiti.org/versiti-blood-research-institute). VBRI is a leader
in the field of thrombosis, hemostasis, benign/malignant hematology and
genetic disorders like Sickle Cell Disease, VWF disease and hemophilia.
VBRI\'s close association with the Versiti Medical Sciences Institute,
the Versiti blood center of Wisconsin, the Medical College of Wisconsin
and the Adult as well as Pediatric Sickle Cell Clinic at the Froedtert
hospital and Children\'s Hospital of Wisconsin ensures strong
translational training and accessibility to invaluable resources such as
