Seafood processing and cold storage company is looking for an Office and Warehouse Floater for full-time, year-round, employment. This position helps to cover Customer Inventory, Tally, and Dry Material departments. We all work together to do things as accurately and efficiently as possible and to perform our jobs with this goal in mind. Customer Satisfaction! The Office and Warehouse Floater position is responsible for many duties, some of which include:
Reception:
- Greet visitors in person and by telephone and transfer to appropriate department as necessary
- Assist walk in customers with Ice and Bait purchases
Shipping/Receiving:
- Prepare Bill(s) of Lading to correspond with product release
- File shipping/receiving billing and inventory paperwork
- Prepare inspection paperwork
- Assist warehouse with dispatch and customer calls and provide them with copies of forms as needed
- Maintain customer database
- Assist accounts receivable with communication about past due invoices
- Perform yearly archiving and shredding
- Assist tally department as necessary
Tally:
- Inspecting, weighing, and monitoring the flow of seafood to and from the production line
- Completion of accurate daily paperwork to required specifications
Inventory:
- Lot product received/shipped in/out of inventory and master lot books
- Answer warehouse, production, and customer questions regarding inventory
- Copy receiving paperwork for production orders
- Process incoming paperwork from warehouse and tally departments
- Update month end customer inventories
Dry Materials:
- Maintain a high degree of visibility and access to employees on warehouse floor
- Anticipate production needs
- Locate stock and deliver items to the required destination upon request
- Ensures incoming deliveries are accurate and stock supply room with new goods
- Checks order forms, delivery requests to ensure proper documentation and accuracy
- Maintain current inventory records and cost control
- Prepare required paperwork and complete company forms
Qualifications:
- Must have excellent attendance
- Knowledge of multi-line phone system
- Previous office clerk experience
- Able to handle last minute changes and orders and to work under pressure
- Maintain customer confidentiality
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Strong organizational, math, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail required
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work enthusiastically with constantly changing priorities
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Ability to deal effectively with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational levels
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently
- Must be able to pass a math test
Work Environment:
The work space is split between office and warehouse settings.
In the office setting:
The office setting involves some short duration walking, standing, and working on feet in both the office and the shipping and receiving area (where the temperature may be much lower than office,) otherwise duties are mostly performed at a desk.
In the warehouse setting:
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs at times, but not continuously. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods up to 2 hours at a time. Temperatures may vary depending on location in warehouse and production areas.
Schedule:
Work hours will either be 7:00am – 4:00pm or 8:00am – 4:30pm depending on which department needs the help. Schedule will vary between these two shifts.
Salary:
- Hourly pay based on education and experience
- Vacation, and holiday pay
