FleishmanHillard, a global integrated communications agency, is seeking a Senior Vice President to lead our Bay Area-based Emerging Media + Platforms team. At FH, Emerging Media + Platforms is at the very forefront of developing and introducing new storytelling solutions for clients through a combination of communications strategy, emerging technologies, and creative services, traversing earned, paid, and owned channels and content creation. As a skilled, versatile practitioner, you integrate and lead a variety of communications and marketing disciplines and work closely with our specialist teams to develop programs to support our clients’ businesses objectives. You play a key role in developing new client offerings, and represent FleishmanHillard thought leadership on the use of AI and emerging technologies in communications. You are comfortable at the forefront of our craft and naturally tinker with new technologies and tools, ensuring that thought leadership and offerings are grounded in first-hand experience. You enjoy new business development, and the pursuit of projects and wins, and are motivated by solving a variety of client problems – from the complex to the simple – with innovation and creativity, backed by data and insights. Responsibilities

  • Market Leader: You are able to identify and successfully pursue new business opportunities for integrated communications with existing and new clients. You have strong relationships with heads of marketing and communications, particularly in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the West, and have positive reputation as a trusted advisor who brings innovative and effective solutions.
  • Thought Leader: You are comfortable serving as an agency thought leader on AI and emerging technologies and their implications on communications strategy and techniques. In addition to external thought leadership, you play a key role in developing FH’s perspectives within Omnicom.
  • Solutions Developer: You connect with area startups, tools providers and VCs to help us keep our eye around the corner on new technologies impacting communications; you gain access to and experiment safely and ethically with new technologies and advise on relevant risks. You work with FH peers to identify market opportunities, and you develop new offerings and evolve capabilities based on the convergence of data, emerging technologies, and communications.
  • Collaborator: You are strong, effective partner in new business and collaborator with FH sector leadership in Technology, Health & Life Sciences, Retail, Sports & Lifestyle, and Financial Services. You strengthen our sector expertise with cutting edge capabilities in integrated marketing communications.
  • Experienced Operator: You are a proven agency leader who’s comfortable partnering with senior-level clients and capable of leading and growing team members through mentorship, coaching and professional development. You have demonstrated an ability to:
    • Develop trusted advisor role with clients that leads to growth and positive client satisfaction
    • Elevate the performance of teams, inspiring them to innovate and develop new approaches and solutions, ultimately enhancing employee satisfaction
    • Manage teams and projects profitability – on time, on budget and with high levels of financial and operational acumen
    • Manage and mentor team members on client work, agency solutions development and ongoing skills acquisition at the forefront of the communications craft

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in integrated marketing, communications, journalism, or related field
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in communications, agency experience is a must
  • At least five years of experience in a senior leadership role in a dynamic agency environment, with proven business acumen in digital, social and creative services
  • Proven experience in developing new business and agency growth
  • Active thought leadership. Stay at the forefront of new channels, platforms, and technologies relevant to marketing and communications; tinker and build new solutions as part of FH’s Media + Platforms global capability and produce/share thought leadership
  • Strong proficiency in multiple disciplines, including communications and marketing strategy, content creation, influencer relations, the use of data in communications and for insights development, and effective use/management of planning and creative services
  • Proven ability to build and cultivate relationships with senior-level clients, clearly identifying business challenges and the ways communications can address them
  • Demonstrated success in developing trusted relationships with clients as well as defining and driving client growth
  • Natural collaborative leader with excellent communication skills, ability to traverse multiple clients, projects and internal stakeholders and teams
  • Involvement in hiring and retaining team members; supporting individual team career pathing and contributing to team growth
  • Advocate for team members and showcase success across office and globally

The anticipated salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $231,000.00.

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off and/or other benefits also are available.
