Senior Systems Administrator

JHNA is currently seeking ahighly motivated Senior System Administratorwith demonstrated experience performingsystem administration functions on Aircraft or Weapons Systems networks.

This position will require on-site presence at NAVAIR in Patuxent River, MD.

Roles/Responsibilities

• Work to help maintain and upgrade network infrastructures across the NAVAIR
• Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users
• Assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination
• Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems
• Perform maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.
• Oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
• Optimize the functionality and performance of hardware and software systems
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans and capabilities
• Plan for authorized service interruptions and outages
• Respond to unexpected or unauthorized service interruptions and outages
• Diagnose software and hardware failures to resolution
• Implement and ensure security preventive measures are fully functioning
• Test operating system and software upgrades, patches, and hot fixes

Job Requirements

• Candidate must possess an Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance. US Citizenship required.
• Bachelor's degree in a Technical Discipline.-Will accept additional years of experience in lieu of education requirement.
• At least 5 years of experience in system administration, performing the functional duties for this position.

• Deployment/configuration/support for: VMWare/vSphere Enterprise, Cisco switches, SAN, Windows server
• Experience with: Networking, Linux.

• Knowledge of networking/ IT principles, theories, and concepts and ability to contribute to the development, of new and innovative principles and concepts.
