Description

Staff Management | SMX is hiring immediately for Mold Setters! As a Mold Setter, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the manufacturing and production procedures of our premier client, Heartland Automotive! Will consider applicants with limited experience and on the job training is available. Starting pay is $17/hr upon the contingency of passing the mold setter exam after the 90-day training period! If the exam is not passed, the pay will be $13.50 hourly + $2.00 weekly perfect attendance incentive + $1.50 shift premium. Apply now to start your new career!

  • 2nd Shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm + potential daily overtime

Job Responsibilities

  • Check with supervisor for verification of the status of the molds that must be installed or removed during each manufacturing shift.
  • Remove molds from press after shutdown is completed.
  • Return all molds, fixtures, and auxiliary equipment to their proper storage location in the plant.
  • Follows 5S and TS16949 procedures
  • Set all molds and auxiliary equipment per the mold set-up instructions and mold set-up procedure.
  • Connects all water lines, hydraulics and electrical connections to all molds and equipment at start-up including terminators, chillers, and other related equipment.  
  • Connect all knockout and ejector bars as needed.
  • Clean all set-up tools, equipment, and any spilled water.
  • Follow all safety procedures.
  • Efficiently manages time and completing all tasks assigned. 
  • Reports damage, defects and other issues pertaining to molding non-conformances to supervisors.
  • Ensuring the compliance of all company policies and the Occupational Safety and health administration rules (OSHA) while conducting work functions. 
  • Must be able to adapt to various job requirements in the changing automotive world.
  • Must be assigned to other jobs as production needs change

Qualifications:

  • Experience with overhead cranes
  • Experience with Microsoft Office is a plus
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as: probability and statistical inference, and ability to apply concepts such as: fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.  
  • Must have the ability to use micrometers, gauges, and other related equipment.  
  • Must be able to read and understand work instructions.

The hourly rate for this position is anticipated between $17.00 - $22.50 per hour. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the shift you work and other considerations permitted by law.
