Job Description: |
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Wire and install Fire Alarm systems for commercial customers. - Verify and test installed systems.
QUALIFICATIONS - Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. - Excellent customer service skills. - Outstanding organizational and time management skills. - Attention to detail. - Problem solving skills. - Proficient PC and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook experience. - Ability and flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed. - Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and dependability. - Ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines. - Computer Networking background a plus. - Notifier experience preferred. - Willing to travel to jobsites. - This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement with a pay range of $33.44 to $47.73 per hour, as negotiated under the terms of the agreement. All pay rates, benefits, and employment terms are determined and administered by the union.
PROGRAM INFORMATION - Work as an apprentice LV technician 40 hours per week. - Valid driver’s license required. - Ability to pass the Electrician’s Trade Aptitude Test. - Attend class one day per week through Joint Apprenticeship Training Program (free). - Wages are based on the union scale and increase based on the number of hours worked. - Usually takes about 3 years to complete program and become licensed.
