POSITION SUMMARY:
The School Based Clinician Case Manager is responsible for providing mental health and prevention services to students and their families who are eligible to receive services. These services include in-school child therapy and case management services. Provides guidance, support and/or referrals to assist students with increasing their overall level of functioning in the areas of emotional health, academic, family life and involvement in their community. Provides consultative support to the school’s faculty members. Services shall include: conducting educational trainings, classroom observations, developing behavioral plans, providing in-home therapeutic services and case management services to parents experiencing psychosocial stressors.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree in social work, clinical psychology or related mental health field.
- Has one year experience and training in examination, evaluation and treatment of minors and their families.
- Appropriate professional registration/certification by State/national authority required (L.M.S.W., L.L.P., R.N., etc.).
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and have access to a private vehicle for day-to-day job performance.
- Knowledge of child development and childhood psychiatric disorders.
- Understanding of basic clinical theories and treatment modalities including those related to prevention and wellness, crisis management, time-limited therapies and group therapies.
- Ability to function effectively as part of a professional team delivering therapy and case management services to the identified populating.
- Knowledge of and ability to adhere and comply with the Michigan Mental Health Code, HIPAA and SWCS Code of Ethics and policies and procedures.
- Maintains a flexible work schedule in days and hours available to work, including weekends to meet the needs of the person served.
- Proficient in use of computer and working with Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Fluency in Spanish preferred.
COMPENSATION:
$46,023 to $58,233 (Full Time/Union)
