Desired Certifications/Skills:
- Certifications in relevant areas such as PostgreSQL or SQL Server are highly desirable.
- Expertise in administering, tuning, and monitoring massively parallel processing (MPP) databases in Linux environments, experience with Greenplum a plus.
- Expert knowledge of Linux system administration activities including scripting, filesystem management, access controls, and monitoring.
- Proficient in the use of a range of data warehousing technologies, including ETL/ELT tools, SQL, Python, and data modeling techniques for large, complex data sets.
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, related discipline or related experience in lieu of education.
Minimum Experience:
- Seven years experience working with relational databases, data administration, ERP systems, and other software applications in a large-scale enterprise-wide environment.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive:
This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
