Responsibilities
Responsibilities in our Construction Solutions Group
Inspect construction work on transportation and utility infrastructure projects to document conformity to construction standards and specifications
Assist in the coordination between contractors, designers, utilities, and local residents
Complete and maintain records of field observations, including daily reports outlining the work performed, as well as field measurements and computations for the quantity of completed work eligible for payment
Perform material sampling and testing on applicable materials such as soil sampling, compaction tests, concrete tests, etc.
Utilize Microsoft Office, Appia, SiteManager and BlueBeam
Qualifications
Student majoring in any of the following disciplines: Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering, Land Survey or Structural Engineering or other related programs with an emphasis on Civil Engineering
Reliable transportation to and from office/project location with a valid driver's license
Strong work ethic, willingness to learn and try new things
Strong interpersonal communications skills
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and standards
Aptitude to learn Construction Administration Software such as AASHTOWare Project and/or Appia
Familiarity with or an aptitude to learn Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Bluebeam
Willing to work in extreme temperatures as some work assignments are outdoors. Applicant must have the ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, dragging, stooping, standing and walking for long periods of time.
