$16/hour

 

SCHEDULE: (Determined on a case by case basis) up to 20 hours per week, afternoons, evenings and weekends

 

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Recreational Coordinator will help plan and implement recreational activities and help with office work.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Recreational Coordinator responsibilities include: assist with planning and implementation of recreational/social activities for participants in the Portage County geographic area.

2. Be an advocate for the participants.

3. Support interaction with all participants.

4. Learn all emergency procedures during UR activities.

5. Promptly reports any accidents or incidents, illness or sickness of consumers.

6. Research and provide volunteer opportunities for teens and adults with developmental disabilities to give back to their community.

7. Complies with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification/registry requirements.

8. Complete the HPC training

9. Stay up to date with trainings (i.e. CPR/First Aid)

10. Answer phones, filing, and record keeping as needed.

11. Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

2. Excellent computer skills. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets.

3. Excellent organizational skills.

4. Must pass background checks

5. Must have or be able to receive First Aid and C.P.R Certification.

6. Ability to read and understand procedures, manuals, correspondence and general text.

7. Ability to maintain discretion with confidential data and comply HIPAA regulations.

8. Ability to work effectively with the public in a professional and courteous manner.

9. Reliable transportation with valid Ohio Driver’s License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.

10. Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal back ground check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation).

Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: High School graduate or possesses GED.

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Customer service experience either through employment

or volunteer service. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to assist participants in and out of the vans.
