Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a skilled and bold individual with strong problem-solving abilities to join our extraordinary team as an Engineer II, Software. In this role, you will have the opportunity to chip in to impactful projects, such as finding cures for cancer, protecting the environment, and ensuring food safety. With our company's focus on innovation and significant investment in research and development, you will get all the necessary resources and support to make a substantial difference in the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and customize 3D software solutions accurately tailored to our customers’ specific needs, to make better use of Thermo Scientific Software solutions.
  • Develop workflows and recipes to support the ease-of-use for Thermo Scientific Software solutions.
  • Solve sophisticated technical problems in a multi-disciplinary technical environment.
  • Collaborate with an enthusiastic team to develop high-performance solutions!

How to get there?

  • Enlightening background in Computer Science, such as a Master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Sophisticated experience in C++ and Python programming languages.
  • 2+ years of applicable experience in 3D programming and image processing.
  • Development experience with image processing, process automation, 3D rendering, and GPU computing.
  • Familiarity with software solutions such as Amira, Avizo, Volume Graphics, ImageJ, Imaris, Arivis, or any other image processing solution.
  • Strong communication and inter-cultural skills.
  • Proficient in English language, eligible for passport, and able to travel.

This position is based in Hillsboro, OR, US as a part of the Engineering division of Thermo Fisher Scientific or in Bordeaux, France as part of FEI SAS.
