JOB REQUIREMENTS: In order to be considered for this position,
candidates must meet the following requirements: Experience: At least
one year of experience in a clinic, physician\'s office, or hospital
setting preferred. Nursing students who have completed at least two
clinical rotations will also be considered. Education & Certification:
Medical Assistant certification is required. Associate of Science degree
and AAMA certification are preferred. CPR certification is mandatory.
Job Summary: The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a critical role in the
delivery of primary care within an outpatient, ambulatory setting, with
a focus on prevention and health maintenance. The MA is expected to
implement principles of comprehensive, community-based, patient-centered
care, ensuring that services are developmentally, culturally, and
linguistically appropriate. This role requires excellent customer
service, communication, and teamwork, as well as the ability to
effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment. The Medical
Assistant will perform clinical and administrative tasks in alignment
with established policies, procedures, protocols, and standing orders.
Responsibilities will be carried out in accordance with the MA Skill
Checklist, reviewed during the orientation and probation periods, and
updated as necessary by the supervisor. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities: Room Preparation: Prepare and maintain examination and
treatment rooms to ensure readiness for patient care, including managing
the inventory of supplies and equipment. Equipment Maintenance: Perform
routine checks and maintenance on clinical equipment, ensuring
functionality for patient care. Pre-visit Screenings: Conduct pre-visit
screenings according to protocols approved by OCHC and the ordering
provider. Patient History Documentation: Obtain, assess, and record
patient history using appropriate tools and protocols within the
electronic medical record (EMR) system. Medical Records Management:
Assist with organizing and maintaining patient medical records,
including the accurate documentation of medications and immunizations in
the EMR and Wisconsin Immunization Registry. Office Operations: Utilize
computer and electronic technologies to support office operations,
including organizing, prioritizing, and securely maintaining
transmittable information. Vital Signs & Clinical Assistance: Obtain
vital signs and assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments as
ordered by the provider within legal and professional guidelines.
