Job Description (Teacher's Assistant/Paraprofessional):
- Teacher Assistant is directly responsible to specific group assignments.
- Responsible for implementation of daily and weekly programs as assigned by NYSED certified teacher for each student in assigned group.
- Assist in any clerical work (i.e. daily attendance, requisitions, trip lists, graphing data).
- Responsible for carrying out daily schedules as developed and planned.
- The Teacher Assistant is responsible for participating in in-service training, CPR, behavior analysis training program and completing one book/quiz per month.
- Teacher Assistant instructs students in daily proper hygiene habits.
- Assists in accompanying students to medical office, and off grounds medical appointments or other services as needed.

Required education: Associate Degree from accredited college or 48 credits at a 4 year accredited college preferred. Minimum High School Diploma
Required experience (if applicable): Experience with the developmentally disabled a plus.
Other Qualifications:
- A genuine interest in teaching students with Autism and willingness to motivate students to learn.
- Sensitivity to the needs of all students.
- A desire to acquire effective training techniques in behavior analysis programming
Required license or certification (if applicable):
Current NYSED Teacher Assistant Certification or Certification obtained within 3 months of employment.
