Job Description


The AAQS Asset Manager will be responsible for the reliability, and efficiency of the Advanced Air Quality Systems of Carnival Cruise Line’s fleet. The AAQS Asset manager will define the maintenance and operation strategies of the AAQS to ensure that a continuous improvement process is well established to achieve highest level of safety, reliability, availability, and efficiency of the AAQS throughout the fleet. This role is also responsible for overseeing upgrades related with the AAQS as well as keep well informed the Technical Operation Managers, and Director of the upcoming maintenance and its impact on ship AAQS OPEX budget.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure proper planning and execution of the AAQS (EGCS) scheduled maintenance. 
  • Assist shipboard and shoreside teams in resolving short-term and long-term AAQS (EGCS) failures effectively. Collaborates with the OEM to develop root cause analyses of failures, incorporating immediate corrective actions and preventive measures.
  • Assist in the development of root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions related with the outcome of internal/external audit finding of the AAQS (EGCS).   
  • Define detailed specifications for repair works that needs to be performed by 3rd party vendors in the AAQS (EGCS), and clear criteria for quality control checks to be performed by the Engine Officer at work completion.
  • Provide input to annual planning and budgeting process for routine maintenance/ repairs, replacements, and improvements (CAPEX) of the AAQS (EGCS), as applicable. 
  • Collaborate with the OEMs to assess system upgrade proposals and integrate them into the maintenance schedule, job cards, and asset components tree view.
  • Continuously monitor the performance, technical status, and usage rate of the AAQS (EGCS) fitted on the CCL vessels.
  • Partner with the Strategic Sourcing team to identify best possible spare parts sourcing strategy. Provides specs and technical details to the team as well as technical expertise. Participate in meetings alongside the corporate sourcing and technical teams. 
  • Partner with the PMS Manager to establish a consistent approach to the operation and maintenance of the AAQS (EGCS) fleetwide.   

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineer or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years in engineering/performance, and technical ASSET management. 
  • Experience in either design, construction, or operation of the marine machinery equipment.
  • Masters in Marine Engineer preferred
  • Ability to evaluate all aspects related to the performance and lifecycle of the AAQS (EGCS) and its subcomponents preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Excellent organization and management skills, with highest reliability, time management and project management effectiveness

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds.

Travel: Less than 25% ship and shore-based travel likely

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.

The range for this role’s base salary is $75,900 - $122,700.  Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.

The range for this role’s base salary is $17.00 - $20.00 per hour.  Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
