Job Description
CNC Machinist - Amphenol Industrial is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with Mastercam programming experience to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires expertise in Mastercam software to create and optimize toolpaths, ensuring the highest quality and efficiency in production.
Key Responsibilities
Program CNC Machines: Use Mastercam software to create and modify CNC programs for milling, turning, and other machining operations.
Machine Setup: Set up CNC machines by installing and aligning tools, fixtures, and workpieces based on setup sheets and engineering requirements.
Operate Equipment: Run CNC machines to produce high-quality components, monitor operations, and adjust parameters as needed.
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T to ensure parts meet specifications.
Toolpath Optimization: Optimize toolpaths and machining strategies to improve cycle times and reduce waste.
Quality Assurance: Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs to ensure conformance to specifications.
Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machines, tools, and equipment to ensure smooth operations.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist.
Proficiency in Mastercam for programming CNC machines.
Strong knowledge of CNC milling and turning operations.
Familiarity with GD&T and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Hands-on experience with precision measuring tools and inspection techniques.
Preferred:
Associates degree or certification in machining or manufacturing technology.
Experience with 5-axis CNC machining.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
