Job Description:
Provide operational support for the Maintenance Department to work towards removing all unplanned downtime using continuous improvement techniques, managing predictive maintenance programs, working with the maintenance team in the workshop and on the plant floor to improve work practices, provide a technical resource to make operational improvements and maintain technical documents. Work direction and/or assignments will be received primarily from the Plant Engineer. On occasion work direction may be given from other management personnel, to include the Plant Manager and corporate engineering staff, as required by company needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor and report Key Productivity Indicators that evaluate the equipment and recommend strategies to remove all unplanned downtime, create new reports, as needed, and/or maintain existing reports for the department (ratios, KPIs, costs analysis)
Conduct and facilitate root cause analysis with maintenance technicians, subject matter experts and others who can contribute as directed by Plant Engineer to meet escalation requirements.
Assume overall responsibility for managing outside service contractors who contribute to reliability initiatives
Effectively develop and manage reliability improvement projects and assist with annual capital budget development and spend
Research, write, and publish maintenance department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Preventative Maintenance work instructions (PM's), Safety Programs, etc.
Participate in, or lead, specific studies directed at continuous manufacturing improvement or maintenance improvement programs
Conduct research, gather information, and conduct feasibility/economic studies of plant improvement projects
Assist the Maintenance Supervisors, Project Engineer, Process Control Engineers, and/or the Maintenance Planner in a variety of special needs or specific projects
Assist in maintaining current versions of all departmental documentation, equipment manuals, drawings, electronic records, etc.
Seek out new technologies and techniques for asset management and predictive maintenance
Identify and provide solutions for premature or repeated asset failures
Work with the maintenance team to improve work practices
Assist in troubleshooting plant maintenance issues as needed
Regular and effective communication with all reliability stakeholders (maintenance personnel, production personnel, plant leadership, corporate engineering, vendors, etc.)
Follow all DFA GMP's and works in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required
Good understanding of reliability principals
Proven ability to work with maintenance team leading continuous improvement
Minimum 5 years of experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Familiar with the mechanical and electrical functionality and troubleshooting of equipment specific to the facility or similar technologies. This includes, but is not limited to, packaging equipment, instrumentation, centrifugal machines, pumps, and valves
Must be able to read and understand blueprints, P&ID drawings and electrical diagrams or schematics
Must be able to read equipment manuals, P&IDs, blueprints and use the troubleshooting guides found within to solve problems
Must be able to work with the stakeholders on the plant floor and in the production environment to coach best work practices and goals
Must be willing and able to use a computer daily, with ability to use Excel, Word, and PowerPoint in the Microsoft Office Suite and other database software
Able to handle critical decision-making responsibilities and deal with mental stress from occasional extended worked hours outside of regularly scheduled shift
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
