Starr Regional Medical Center is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Medical Lab Technician for our Laboratory Services Department. This job is permanent, PRN.

Core competencies include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performs common testing procedures and reports test results.
- Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Performs quality control testing.
- Maintains supplies needed for performance of tests.
- Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing.
- Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.
- Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing and transporting specimens.
- Maintains work area in a safe, aseptic and organized manner.
Minimum EducationAssociate of Applied Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or equivalent and certification by a CLIA approved credentialing organization MLT(ASCP), CLT(NCA), MLT(HEW), MLT(AMT) OR
AAS equivalency by passing a certification exam given by a CLIA approved credentialing organization MLT(ASCP), CLT(NCA), MLT(HEW), MLT(AMT):
