Rate: Pay Grade: E – $22.0870 hour/$45,941 annual to $34.7084 hour/$72,194 annual – minimum starting salary based on prior experience and education

Position Description:
Under the direction of the Chief of Outdoor Education, the Facility Manager is responsible for the rentals, schedules, and coordination of activities & programs at Painesville Township Park. This position manages the operating and maintenance of the facility and ball fields of Painesville Township Park.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Facilitates and hosts on-site programs, coordinates with partner groups, public programs, and special events.
- Provides great customer service to park visitors and facility renters.
- Coordinates with the Registration Department, schedules all facility and ball field rentals.
- Works with current and potential renters on floor plans, coordinates showing the facility and other duties that are related.
- Supervises facility rentals with development and implementation of protocols for these rentals.
- Coordinates with contractors for yearly and seasonal maintenance of the buildings, HVAC, generators, fire extinguishers, and other facility needs.
- Schedules appropriate staffing levels for facility, ball field rentals/tournaments and concessions. Maintains proper certifications for food service.
- Assists with developing annual operating budget and capital improvement projects, monitors and controls expenses.
- Works with Ranger Dept. to maintain security of facility for building. Supervises staff and volunteers as assigned.
- Assures compliance with all related safety regulations.
- Assists with planning and set-up of special events (Halloween Drive through, Country Lights, Grand River Canoe and Kayak Race, the Triathlon, and other race events, etc.).
- Assists in operations of seasonal facilities (Chapin Forest Pine Lodge Ski Center).
- Coordinates with Park Building and Grounds Manager and Outdoor Education Managers with special projects and sharing of equipment and use of buildings.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in natural resources, environmental science, parks and recreation, or related field preferred.
- 1-2 years administrative experience required.
- Experience in interpretive or educational field preferred.
Position Requirements:
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures, building maintenance, department policies and procedures, money management, budgeting, inventory control, public relations.
- Knowledge of various outdoor recreational activities including kayaking, standup paddleboarding, canoeing, archery, cross country skiing, swimming, hiking, and other activities.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Must be self-directed, flexible, creative, able to perform with poise under pressure and to deliver strong and measurable results.
- Must be comfortable speaking in public in front of small and large groups.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for working with families and children of all ages.

- Ability to stimulate interest and excitement about program subject and the park district in visitors and other staff.
- Ability to safely utilize ladders, small power tools, and motor vehicles.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to work in a team setting to accomplish park-related goals.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work in PC environments.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Will be required to work flexible hours, weekends, evenings and holidays.
- Must possess a valid drivers’ license and be insurable on the Agency’s liability policy. Background check required.
