Job Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of a comprehensive Academic Success program for a designated Club, with an emphasis on K-5 academics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of positive youth development:
a. promote and encourage program participation
b. will use positive youth development techniques
c. provide guidance and role modeling to members
d. participate in programs interacting with youth
2. Serve as an adult mentor to all Club youth.
3. Design age-appropriate educational curriculum, including academic support and tutoring that invites youth voice and input, ensures program meets or exceeds all expected outlined deliverables that also incorporates BGCA curriculum and exceeds all grant expectations.
4. Assist members in their academic success through homework help and tutoring.
5. Implement education programs with a special focus on K-3 literacy.
6. Help members set academic goals for themselves.
7. Collaborate with Great Futures Coordinator to coordinate and supervise academic field trips, business tours and college visits.
8. Maintain members’ FERPA confidentiality regarding members shared academic records.
9. Track all programs and activities using the Boys & Girls Club’s database; evaluate programs with youth using surveys and qualitative feedback; provide grant reports as required.
10. Conduct daily pre/post operation safety inspection of program area.
11. Participate in all grant trainings and reports to ensure full program compliance.
12. Participate in all required and recommended Club trainings and staff meetings
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure a productive work environment by assisting/collaborating with all staff and volunteers.
2. May participate in special programs and/or events.
3. Responsible for other duties as assigned by Site Manager or other supervisors.
