Main Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible
for the coordination of purchasing, warehousing, distribution, shipping,
forecasting to limit costs, improving accuracy and providing excellent
customer service. Monitors the movement of raw materials, in process goods or
completed merchandise to ensure that production needs or customers
expectations are met. Collects data and prepares analyses designed to
forecast demand or predict inventory needs. Maintains contact with vendors
and submits purchase orders or requisitions to ensure a continuous supply of
goods. Evaluates existing supply chain
processes, implementing changes when necessary to improve efficiency and
overall performance.

Review
or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing
environmental policies, standards, regulations or laws.
Select
Transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or
consolidating warehousing and distribution.
Appraise
vendor manufacturing ability through on-site visits and measurements.
Participate
in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions or new
product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or
production flow.
Manage
activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing, material
requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, or receiving.
Develop
procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other
functional areas, such as sales, marketing, customer care, finance,
production or quality assurance.
Forecast
demand or create supply plans that ensure availability of materials or
products.
Define
performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply
chain factors, such as product cost or quality.
Receive
purchase requisitions, review for accuracy-specifications, search-select
right vendor & prepare purchase orders within ERP system accordingly.
Review
direct and in-direct material inventory levels against budget-forecast and
enter purchase orders in ERP system to meet demand - on time delivery
requirements. Manage system inputs to drive utilization of
material management functionality within ERP. Collaborate
across departments to leverage ERP system capabilities to achieve plant
goals for on time delivery, inventory management, cost management.
Analyze
and review safety stock levels (ERP INPUTS) on a continuous basis to
ensure balance of on-time production and shipment to customers against
inventory budgets, while minimizing excess and slow moving inventory.
Manage
incoming goods from suppliers, ensuring goods are received to set
standards/specifications, working with QA, Planning, Production and Vendor
on all quality or delivery problems; rectify issues immediately to ensure
no interruption with business.
Manage
relationships with vendors, creating partnerships that support long-term
growth; visit vendor sites as necessary; host vendor meetings ensuring
clear agendas are established.
Review
& keep system up to date with accurate item, price and delivery
information.
Research
and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, and service;
make recommendations to Director of US Dispensing on changes and upgrades
to market technology / trends.
Monitor
all vendors for performance of on-time delivery and quality; work with QA
Manager to initiate Supplier Corrective Action when performance is below
standard. Engage in supplier development activities that drive
continuous improvement in purchased materials performance, availability
and pricing. Manage quarterly vendor scorecard process.
Author
and update all purchasing related process and documentation, ensuring
compliance with ISO standards and Rieke and TriMas purchasing policies,
and ensuring consistency in procedures and best practice sharing across
other Rieke locations.
Participate
in SIOP process and be able to speak through raw material stock-outs and
inventory levels.
Act
as point person with Rieke A/P on payment to vendors.
Oversee
inventory control processes; perform inventory adjustments and reconcile
physical to system.
Lead
cycle counting program; perform audits; report out on accuracy and trends.
As
back-up, schedule production at one or more facility; ensure that
schedules are communicated internally and to meet promise date to
customer.
Maintains
receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating,
coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies
and procedures.
Maintains
excellent physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new
design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and
requisitions for replacement.
Ensure
team members (shipping, receiving, warehouse and material handlers) are
successfully trained to ensure service and product quality meets or
exceeds customer expectations according to policies and procedures and/or
as communicated in the work instructions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Operations, Supply chain Management or related field.
Minimum of 3-5 year of supervisory/management experience.
3+ years of planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
Lean, process improvement experience preferred
