AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

A. Essential Functions of the Job

  • Provide door-to-door transportation for designated persons.
  • Responsible for safe operation of the vehicle at all times.
  • Follow prescribed procedures governing van operations.
  • Complete any required documentation.
  • Participate in training as appropriate.
  • Report any mechanical or operational problems to immediate supervisor.
  1. General
  • Act in a professional manner, observe rights of persons served and maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers and persons served.
  • Dress appropriately for the job being performed.
  • Serve as positive role model for persons served.
  • Attend staff meetings when required.
  • Work in harmony with all members of the staff and display such abilities on an ongoing daily basis.

C.Safety

·Follow prescribed Little City safety procedures.

  • Operate association vehicles in a safe, responsible manner.

II. ADVISORY AND RESOURCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as resource with respect to driver training, route scheduling, and general transportation requirements.

III. STAFF SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • None

IV. HOURS AND WORK YEAR

  • Approximately 20-25 hours per week - Part-time position.
  • Monday through Friday, 7:30a.m. to 9 a.m. and 2p.m. to 4 p.m., or as agreed upon
  • for any special activities. 12 months per year.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

High school graduate or GED certificate, preferred. Valid Illinois driver’s license required. A minimum of one-year experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities desired. Must meet the insurance requirements per Little City policy in order to be placed on the Approved Driver list. Must have a driving record in good standing . 

VI. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to maneuver occupied wheelchair into tie-down position.

Must be able to pass a PACE physical.
