Summary: Balkan Sewer & Water Main Service is NYC's largest house sewer and water service line contractor. Balkan also operates a comprehensive drain cleaning company. The Balkan Team has been in continuous operation for over 65 years, and has a pristine reputation in the NYC plumbing industry. Responsibilities: Complete and submit DOT logs daily. Check load and complete pre and post trip safety inspection per DOT requirements. Keep trucks clean inside and out, and check inspections for registration and compliance. Report any issues or incidents to supervisor. Load and unload cargo, must be able to like 80 pounds. Operate vehicles in safer manner. Perform work outdoors at construction sites dealing with inclement weather. Excavation by hand. Use hand and power tools, performing grade checks, jack hammering, cuts and fills. Clean up vehicles/equipment Work at a fast and hard pace. Wear all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Understand Balkan's health and safety practices and DOT, EPA & OHSA regulations Skills & Qualifications: Valid NYS driver's license; clean driver's record Able to handle physical workload--able to life 45 pounds and 75 pounds or more with assistance Drug/Alcohol test required Strong work ethic OSHA SST Pay: $17-$21/hr.
