Position: Platform Support Engineer
Location: on-site in Parsippany, NJ
Estimated Duration: The client approximates that this project is a 6 month contract to hire. However, there is no guarantee of employment for any length of time.
Pay Rate Range: starting out at $40/hr. paid weekly (flexible based on experience)
Project Description: Assist Power Platform system owner with administration and support of Power Platform tools including Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps, and Copilot Agents. Support end-users ability to create reports, dashboards, apps and flows. Maintain inventory of objects in Power Platform including identification of owners and developers.
Day to Day Responsibilities/typical day look like:
Daily activities might include:
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for Power Platform applications, including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Agents, and Dataverse.
- Handle escalated support tickets from Level 1 and 2 support, performing in-depth diagnostics to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Monitor and manage Power Platform environments, ensuring optimal performance and proactive capacity planning.
- Provide guidance and support to citizen developers, helping them to effectively use Power Platform and Copilot Agent tools and adhere to governance policies.

Requirements:
The successful candidate will have these specific skills and knowledge:
Power BI
- Knowledge of Power BI reports, dashboards and connections to data sources
- Ability to assist report developers with configuration of reports
- Ability to assist report developers with connecting to native data sources and others via data gateway
- Ability to create data sources and delegate management to owning developers
- Ability to monitor premium capacity usage and balance load as needed
Power Apps/Automate
- Understanding of premium connections and Dataverse
- Understanding of Power Platform environments and creation of apps in the appropriate location
- Understanding of Power Apps licensing
- Understanding of User Roles in Power Platform
