Our collaborative project team is seeking an experienced Bridge Inspector/Construction Professional with a background in bridge engineering or inspection to oversee, coordinate and manage onsite construction activities for our bridge projects located across Alberta and the Northwest Territories. The successful candidate will be the primary resource on site representing the Client and Jacobs and will work in close collaboration with the project manager and design team. 

 
 
You will be responsible for: 

  • Construction Contract Administration and Construction operations inspection services 
  • Resolving contractor's questions, and participate in resolution of design issues 
  • Managing the contractor's performance of the work in line with the contract requirements including project specifications 
  • Monitoring the project and construction schedule and progress across all trades/scopes of work, monitor manpower and performance against contractors workplan. 
  • Preparing construction progress reports and coordinate, document, and attending meetings with the contractor and the design team and preparing meeting minutes 
  • Review of construction contractor's submittals and shop drawings. 
  • Full understanding of drawings, specifications, and other design related documentation 
  • Coordinate and document on-site inspection and monitoring of construction work, including Quality Assurance Monitoring and Testing 
  • Review of site inspection and test reports 
  • Monitoring and maintaining accurate records of construction contractors progress and performance 
  • Document resolution of issues that arise during construction 
  • Monitoring construction contractor compliance with any regulatory permit conditions 
  • Compiling daily reporting as per the client requirements with photo records 
  • Preparing Final Project Summary Report as per Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors (TEC) Engineering Consultant Guidelines for Highway, Bridges, and Water Structures  
Here's what you'll need
  • Civil/Structural Engineering Degree or Diploma 
  • 5+ years of experience working in a similar role on transportation/bridge project sites 
  • Valid Driver’s License is required 
  • Must have excellent communication skills, able to effectively and professionally communicate with contractors and clients  
  • Comfortable working in a remote environment, on active construction sites 
  • Experience with TEC projects and being familiar with TEC Bridge Construction Specifications and Bridge Inspection Manual 
  • Completed TEC Construction Inspection training courses 
Posted Salary Range: Minimum
87,600.00
Posted Salary Range: Upper
140,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $87,600.00 to $140,000.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across British Columbia, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
