We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Program Director for the Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) Program. GEMBA is a one year full-time MBA program ideally suited for professionals working in an international work environment. The GEMBA Program Director reports to the Associate Dean of Executive Education, Global EMBA, and International Initiatives working closely to develop recruiting and growth strategies for the Program. The candidate will also be responsible for curriculum design to ensure a high quality educational experience for both the students and the faculty. This position is highly complex because of the nature of the GEMBA program. It is a unique program that requires a strong strategic oversight of target audience extending to many different countries. Unlike most other MBA programs in the U.S., this program has over 80% of the students from outside the U.S. and working with them from the initial stage of interest; to decision to apply; to admission; to succeeding in the program; to graduating; to contributing as an alumnus, takes highly trained professionalism and diplomacy. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Leadership (15%): • Develop and execute the strategic vision and goals for the Global Executive MBA program in alignment with the objectives of the University of Washington Foster School of Business. • Important to take into consideration the life cycle of a student from inquiry/prospect stage to admissions to student life to alumni and develop meaningful and measurable metrics of impact in each stage. Program Development and Management (25%): • Oversee all aspects of program development, including curriculum design, course scheduling, faculty recruitment, global immersion, admissions, and program enhancements to meet the evolving needs of global executives. • Create teaching schedules. Manage a team of GEMBA program support staff related to all aspects of program delivery and operations. • Work with the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs and program faculty to periodically review curriculum. Student Recruitment and Admissions (10%): • Lead efforts to attract and recruit high-caliber professionals from diverse backgrounds, regions, and industries, ensuring a competitive and inclusive admissions process. • Build program enrollment by converting applicants from offered to accepted. • Work with MyGrad and Slate and the Graduation Admissions office to ensure smooth application processes. • Work with UW International Student Services to support the travel of the class to the global immersion course destination year by year. • Travel as required to targeted countries to hold information sessions and recruit in person. Faculty Management and Development (10%): • Work closely with faculty to communicate course topics and delivery methodologies, including course material acquisition, learning platform development, and course evaluation. Program Delivery and Quality Assurance (10%): • Ensure the delivery of high-quality educational experiences by monitoring and evaluating program performance, assessing student learning outcomes, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. • Review and evaluate appropriateness and effectiveness of program curriculum. Student Support and Engagement (10%): • Foster a supportive and engaging learning environment for Global Executive MBA students, providing academic advising, mentorship, and resources to facilitate their success and professional growth. • Resolve student issues related to the program. • Also manage the spouse program ensuring the GEMBA student spouses are connected as a community, engaging with them regularly throughout the year. Budget and Resource Management (5%): • Develop and manage the program budget, allocating resources effectively to support program operations, faculty/staff salaries, student scholarships, and other programmatic needs. • Work with Student Financial Services to assign scholarships and grants to incoming students, adhering to discount allocations. Alumni Relations and Networking (5%): • Foster strong relationships with program alumni, engaging them as mentors, guest speakers, and advocates for the program, and facilitating networking opportunities to support their ongoing professional development. • Develop detailed data to track and monitor alumni progress post-graduation. Compliance and Accreditation (5%): • Ensure compliance with relevant accreditation standards and regulations governing Executive MBA programs, maintaining accreditation status and adhering to best practices in program administration. Marketing and Outreach (5%): • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to develop and implement strategies for promoting the Global Executive MBA program, increasing visibility, and attracting prospective students and stakeholders, including US military. • Perform routine administrative tasks as needed. • Perform other duties as assigned to meet program, department and school goals. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Master's Degree in Business Administration, Adult Education, or related field and a minimum 4-years work experience in a university or business environment. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS • Experience working with international organizations, leaders, customers, and/or students • A customer service orientation toward faculty, staff, students, service providers, and vendors • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to represent the Foster School of Business in a professional manner • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint and ability to operate efficiently in a networked environment • Adaptability, excellent interpersonal skills and capacity to work both independently and in a team environment • Able to multi-task with keen attention to detail for high quality results • Flexibility and resourcefulness to complete necessary tasks on time DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Professional experience in the University of Washington graduate level academic environment or other university environment • Masters Degree in Education, Business, or other social science arena WORKING CONDITIONS • Regularly interact with faculty, staff, graduate students, executives, donors, service providers and vendors. • Work has deadlines, multiple interruptions, high volume and may be stressful at times. • Work will require some weekend and evening hours, as well as some potential travel.
