The opportunity:
The E/I Technician will respond to emergency machine breakdowns in a timely manner and perform Preventive Maintenance duties on facility equipment. They will perform common troubleshooting and repair of AC / DC drives, PLC’s, servos, electrical systems, electrical equipment, piping systems, plant machinery and plant equipment.
How you will impact WestRock:
· Installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical systems
· Perform common troubleshooting and repair of AC / DC drives, PLC’s, servos, electrical systems, electrical equipment, piping systems, plant machinery and plant equipment; locate, diagnose and repair malfunctions of Hydraulic systems, Pneumatic systems/
· Read, interpret, scale, and re-scale blueprints, operating manuals, and schematic diagrams.
· Participate in and successfully complete training programs to include: NFPA 70E electrical training, out of plant and in-plant instruction, CPR & First-aid qualification training, become a member of the emergency response team, vendor training, OSHA and weekly safety related training, etc.
What you need to succeed:
· Working knowledge of:
· Method and techniques pertaining to installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical systems.
· Expert level Electrician, Controls Engineer, Proficient in CNC programming and report, PLC Programming experience with CPU’s and HMI’s.
· Degree or Trade School education preferred including class hours in electrical theory (AC/DC), motor controls, 3 phase controls, electrical schematic reading. Higher education and experience such as PLC programing and troubleshooting, microprocessor technology, solid state drive controls, programming & troubleshooting.
· Must have an Electrician License or
· Production Maintenance Experience with high levels of understanding in Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls
Ability to work independently in a mature and professional manner
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work various shifts / overtime / days per week
