Job Description

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, environmental science, or other related disciplines

Recent graduate to 2 years of relevant chemistry lab experience, environmental experience or professional internships

Detail-oriented with quantitative analysis and problem-solving skills

Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision

Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports

Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols

Valid driver’s license and good driving record

40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification a plus.

Proficiency in MS Office Outlook, Excel, Word and Adobe or similar software is required

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of the principles and standards of scientific study, quality assurance of chemical measurements, and documentation

Experience performing chemical analysis in an academic or commercial setting, preferably, analysis using CLP, SW-846 or other EPA methods.

Experience in validating data according to the EPA National Functional Guidelines, or equivalent

Ability to organize data in an efficient and clear manner.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will work closely with Senior Chemist, Project Managers and laboratories to establish scope of analytical requirements, data quality objectives and analytical delivery schedules.

Coordinate work between field personnel, project teams and laboratories. Providing support to field sampling teams as required.

Monitor progress of analyses against project delivery due dates and provide updates to project teams as necessary.

Evaluating and validating environmental laboratory analytical data for compliance with method and program/project QA/QC requirements

Preparing written reports/memo’s and editing electronic data to incorporate validation qualifiers

Preparing project quality documents such as Quality Assurance Project Plans

Field work may be required

Provide technical assistance on chemistry, data usability, and analytical related issues that arise.

Compile and evaluate data and assist in report preparation

Perform multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables
