The Opportunity

This position works out of our Atlanta, GA location in the Heart Failure Division. In Abbott’s Heart Failure (HF) business, we’re developing solutions to diagnose, monitor and manage heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Supervisor Manufacturing to provide team leadership in the day-to-day activities for an assigned production area or work group. Responsible for shifts performance with respect to safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost. Develop a high-performance work team with high levels of worker morale, satisfaction, and performance. Responsible for supporting the process of continuous improvements and lean principles. Reports to functional management on team accomplishments, achievements & productivity.

What You’ll Work On

Our CardioMEMS sensor is an incredibly innovative MEMS (micro-electrical mechanical system) device leveraging manufacturing technologies from semiconductor manufacturing in cleanroom environment. This position is required to work in ISO class 5 and class 7 cleanroom environments and have exposure to handling production materials and process chemicals.

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

  • Translates organizational goals into functional area goals and establishes systems to meet goals.

  • Supervise day-to-day operations of assigned area or workgroup to ensure organizational and objectives are met.

  • Ensure the execution of the production plan to support business requirements.

  • Promote communication and teamwork across shifts / crews as applicable.

  • Responsible for all people-management activities including but not limited to: administrative activities, performance management, work flow and assignments.

  • Coach and develop team leads, trainers and operators to create a culture with a great place to work

  • Identify and address training needs.

  • Lead and/or participate on cross-functional teams.

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System.

  • Understand and comply with applicable EHS policies, procedures, guidelines and programs.

  • Works under general direction from department manager.

  • Assigns work within the assigned group; resolves issues and manages people-related processes; responsible for compliance to industry standards; makes timely and effective decisions related to business and personnel issues within the scope or responsibility.

This position is accountable for the following:

1. Provide positive impact to short-term, mid-range, and long-term organizational goals.

2. Demonstrate continual improvement in technical and personnel matters.

3. Create an environment that supports cross-functional team effectiveness, Supervise and support the development of assigned staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of manufacturing operation industry experience

  • Ability to motivate, direct and provide technical knowledge and mentoring to staff

  • Ability or aptitude to work on problems that are complex in scope where analysis of situations or data involves multiple competing factors

  • Knowledge of manufacturing planning, documentation systems, GMP and quality

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work cross-functionally

  • Knowledge of operations, standards and documentation

The base pay for this position is $66,700.00 – $133,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
