Job Description

Insight Global is looking to hire several technically inclined Helpdesk Support Technicians in a 3+ month Contract role for an Internet Service Provider client of ours in Ames, IA. This candidate will be answering phones from customers who want to activate their Internet, Phone, or TV services. Qualified candidates will be expected to speak the technical language and have a basic understanding of Windows and IOS operating systems, as well as basic knowledge regarding networking connectivity issues surrounding Internet Services. In the month of August, the ticketing queue and phones will be ringing non-stop, as college students will come back for fall semester and the call volume increases tremendously. There is training provided in a 2 week period to get everyone up to speed.

Required Skills & Experience

* Basic working knowledge of how IT Networking operates regarding routers, switches, and modem set-ups

* Basic troubleshooting experience with Windows or IOS operating systems

* Technical aptitude, whether curiosity with a hobby or prior technical troubleshooting experience professionally

* Customer Service experience while being able to handle customers on the phone that are having issues

* Self-starter, someone who can be professionally persistent and have proper business ethics

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Understanding of IOT Devices

* Graduate or Current Student pursuing a Degree in a Technical Field

* Prior Infrastructure experience or exposure to Ethernet and Fiber Optics

* Technical interests outside of work
