Research Associate I, Microbiology and Immunology
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in basic science or equivalent; no experience required.
Job Description:
Performs varying standardized laboratory assignments and experiments.
Job Duties:
- Participating in the daily activities and work assignments of research staff.
- May train new students.
- Planning and coordinating complex research experiments following standard operating procedures.
- Working with Principal Investigator(s) to coordinate project activities and establish appropriate reporting procedures.
- Contributing to scientific analysis and interpretation of projects.
- Establishing and maintaining quality control measures for assigned project operations.
- Making modifications to research procedures in collaboration with the Principal Investigator(s) and contributing to the writing of SOPs and protocols.
- May participate in quality control of experiments performed by of junior staff.
- Ensuring the accurate calibration and operation of a variety of laboratory equipment as defined by appropriate guidelines.
- Adhering to internal controls established for department.
- Performing related duties as required.
- Ensuring, together with all members of the Laboratory, that biosafety rules are respected at all times.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or similar
