Job Summary




Manage monthly general ledger closing processes, including financial reporting, intercompany account balancing, budget analysis, and follow-up for the US Diagnostics & Shared Services businesses. Prepare account reconciliations for various areas within the business. Serve as lead administrator for accounting systems, processes and controls for the Meridian Bioscience Inc. finance group. Lead budget preparation process for several business units. Assist Finance Manager with other duties as assigned.


Key Duties




Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:

General Accounting

Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for various business areas.
Review account reconciliations prepared by other accounting staff members, as assigned.
Monthly/Quarterly/Fiscal Year End reporting activities, as assigned.
Serve as administrator for accounting systems
Review and reconcile intercompany account balances across global entities
Coordinate with external auditors to provide information, walk throughs, etc, as needed
Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs in a multi-location facility throughout the course of the workday
Must be able to analyze and concentrate and solve complex issues throughout the course of the workday.
Ability to work on a PC including repetitive use of a keyboard and mouse for long periods throughout the course of the workday.


Qualifications




Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
3+ years experience as a staff accountant or senior accountant required.
Minimal overnight travel maybe be required
Prior experience with ERP systems highly preferred
Prior experience with accounting system management highly preferred
Advanced excel skills (Lookups, Pivot Tables, etc) required.
Working knowledge of accounting for mergers & acquisitions preferred
Ability to work in in complex financial structures, such as multiple legal entities, required.
Ability to interact with various levels of management, including senior management, highly preferred.
Willingness to be actively engaged in the overall business and grow with the company
