Senior Tax Associates (Non-Licensed) (Worksite: Doeren Mayhew & Co., P.C., 305 West Big Beaver Road, Suite 200, Troy, MI 48084): Will work with a variety of clients in industries such as manufacturing, construction, dealership, real estate, wholesale and distribution, retail and more to analyze their financial data and lead the completion of tax engagements in a timely manner. Will report directly to a senior licensed CPA. The Senior Tax Associate (Non-Licensed) professional role will perform the following complex accounting and taxation related duties: Lead preparation of various tax returns including individuals, C-Corp, S-Corp, partnerships, trust, estate, etc., for clients in a variety of industries; Demonstrate advanced technical aptitude of taxation, inherent in the preparation of complex returns and projects; Utilize analytical and decision-making skills to solve complex technical issues; Review the work of less experienced associates and provide guidance/mentorship to assist them in developing technical skills; Build strong client relationships and ensure client needs are met; Maintain timely and accurate communication with team members and clients to manage expectations, deadlines, and deliverables; Train new employees in the firm’s technology, processes, and procedures; Present new ideas and improvements related to the performance of tasks in order to achieve firm and departmental goals; Seek opportunities to participate in practice development to build a network of referral sources; and Perform daily duties and responsibilities utilizing the following accounting tools and technologies: CCH Practice Axcess Tax, CCH Fixed Asset Software, CCH Document, Excel, and various Tax Research Tools through CCH. Telecommuting is permitted 1 day per week.
Minimum Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent degrees accepted) in accounting, business administration, or a closely related field of study, and 5 years of related experience in domestic tax at a public accounting firm using accounting tools and technologies such as CCH Practice Axcess Tax (or similar accounting tools). All experience may be gained concurrently. Local travel to client worksites may be required approximately 5% of the time. Basic pay range for this position starts at one hundred thousand and six dollars per year for full-time employment and standard company benefits. Doeren Mayhew considers various factors in determining actual pay including your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition to salary, this position is eligible for compensatory time earned for hours worked over 40 in a workweek, as well as a broad range of competitive benefits.
