JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: Within the Galipeau group at Wisconsin
Institutes for Medical Research (WIMR), the successful applicant will
lead a mentored pre-clinical research project with potential for direct
clinical translation. The candidate will develop and study the
physiology and translational use of novel cell and gene therapy
applications in cancer, inflammatory bowel disease diabetes and
neuro-immune disorders. The candidate will also be expected to
contribute to the preparation of manuscript and reports and to regularly
present their findings at meetings, lab meetings and
national/international symposia. Candidate should expect to execute
routine and complex research experiments, including but not limited to
the following procedures: maintenance of multiple cell lines,
preparation of primary stem cell cultures, histological techniques,
immunofluorescence, Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, enzyme-linked
immunosorbent assay, real-time polymerase chain reaction, molecular
cloning and site-directed mutagenesis. Maintenance of mouse colonies;
perform outcome analysis in mouse models of cancer and immune disease,
writing research findings for presentations at scientific and lay
meetings and in peer-reviewed journals is also expected.
Responsibilities: Identifies research problems, designs research
methodologies, performs research, and helps to prepare the results for
presentation to professional organizations or for scholarly publications

and interviews, and documents results according to established policies
and procedures under general supervision and limited responsibility 15%
Conducts literature reviews, prepares reports and materials, and

with the facilitation of scholarly events and presentations in support
of continued professional development and the dissemination of research
