Position Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic trouble shoots and provides immediate preventative and corrective maintenance support to production lines and facilitates change-over of production lines. This position handles the facility’s maintenance also. If the manufacturing plant and distribution center have an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), the Maintenance Mechanic provides immediate preventative and corrective maintenance support.

 

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform immediate repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Execute maintenance work schedule provided by supervisor
  • Overhaul and install new equipment
  • Operates newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs
  • Rebuild and fabricate parts
  • Perform equipment change-overs and production line set ups
  • Record repairs, maintenance, parts, and materials used
  • Utilize work orders for the requisition of new parts and materials as necessary through use of a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system.)
  • Ensure the safety needs are given a top priority in operations support and work execution. Some examples are Arc Flash/Shock Hazard safety, confined space entry, Lockout/tagout (LOTO), hazardous materials, hand tool safe use, etc.
  • Perform maintenance inclusive of the ASRS if a manufacturing plant and distribution center have such a system
  • Maintain clean and safe work area
  • Other projects or duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED and 1 to 2 plus years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Experience within high-speed industrial environment
  • Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use a computer system and associated software
  • Ability to follow manufacturers’ specifications and schematics
  • Use personal hand tools on the job. Hand tools are not provided by the company
  • Willing to be flexible and work a different shift if needed to support the business
  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test

 

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Refrigeration/HVAC Trade or Vocational certification
  • 1+ years of mechanical/electrical experience
  • Diagnostic/troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience
  • Programmable Logic Control (PLC) knowledge
