We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Milford, Massachusetts. In this role, you will oversee critical financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all accounting operations. Responsibilities:
• Reconcile account balances, bank statements, and manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Prepare and analyze accurate financial statements, comparing results to budgeted figures.
• Identify discrepancies in financial records and recommend strategies to enhance efficiency and profitability.
• Review and refine accounting systems and procedures to align with best practices.
• Support and oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely completion.
• Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
• Provide actionable insights through detailed accounting reports and presentations.
• Collaborate in setting departmental goals and contributing to the company's financial strategy.
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant standards.
• Proven experience as a senior accountant or in a similar leadership-focused accounting role.
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, including GAAP.
• Proficiency in financial statement preparation, general ledger functions, and month-end/year-end close processes.
• Experience managing accounting for multi-unit businesses.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software, such as Sage 300.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all financial processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; relevant certifications such as CPA or CMA are preferred.
