Job Description

Armstrong Teasdale is seeking a Contracts Specialist to join its team.

Contract Specialist reviews government contract terms and conditions to confirm regulatory compliance. This is a part-time, hourly position that will work roughly 10-15 hours a month.

Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Proofreads, edits, and fact-checks government contracts and subcontracts for accuracy and consistency, according to a style guide if provided by the client
Provides counsel on federal government contracts and procurements, including simplified acquisition procedures, sealed bids, negotiated procurements, commercial product and commercial service acquisitions, federal supply schedules, and subcontracts
Advises on government contract requirements, including cost accounting standards, U.S. export controls and sanctions, and bid protests, as well as the implementation of effective compliance programs
Reviews federal subcontracting and related dispute and flow-down/compliance issues
Monitors regulatory activity and provides timely updates to attorneys to guarantee contracts are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations (including FAR and DFARS)
Conducts risk assessment on contractual terms and conditions

Communication - shares information by using data and information to support an argument or point of view; keeps team informed about progress and problems; avoids surprises; understands the appropriate level of confidentiality required

Education: Bachelors degree

Required Experience: 10+ years of experience reviewing government contracts
Preferred Experience: Experience with aerospace/defense and manufacturing; Familiarity with the FCL process and FOCI mitigation
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Activity: The employee will be required to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer.
