Position: Behavioral Health Provider I
Location: Cullowhee, Franklin, tele-health and outreach in the 8 western NC counties
Compensation: $40,000 - $50,000 depending on experience
Hours: 30-40 hours per week, flexible around patient/provider needs
Classification: Exempt, Permanent, Full-time
Organization Description:
Vecinos is a non-profit, 501(c)3 Free Clinic that provides bilingual integrated primary and behavioral health care, mobile clinic services, health education, and case management to uninsured, low-income adults in the far-western NC counties.
Mission: Our mission is to provide culturally-appropriate health and wellness services for the uninsured Latinx community.
Purpose:
The Behavioral Health Provider I is an Associate-level provider who works under direct supervision of the Behavioral Health Director, providing behavioral health therapy to patients and collaborating to support all behavioral health and social services within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Psychotherapy
- Perform behavioral health screenings and assessments
- Develop and implement person-centered plans and appropriate documentation in EHR
- Maintain caseload and provide individual and group therapy services
- Provide behavioral health services as needed in all Vecinos service areas (clinic setting, mobile clinic, community outreach and telehealth)
- Provide ongoing follow up care, case management, and referrals as appropriate
- Administration
- Preparation of behavioral health education materials for the clinic and outreach teams
- Assist with program development, including community needs assessments, literature review, and research and implementation of evidence based practices
- Schedule patients, communicate, and properly document encounters in the EHR
- Collaboration
- Collaborate care with psychologist, psychiatrist, and medical team as needed
- Coordinate patient services with the outreach team
- Provide care under the model of integrated care alongside the comprehensive clinical team, including clinicians and clinical support staff as well as the outreach team
- Assist in building professional and medical connections and expanding and maintaining care network for patients in Western NC
Required Qualifications
- Licensed as a behavioral health therapist (LCSW-A or LPC) in North Carolina
- Established contract with a clinical supervisor
- Native, or near-native English and Spanish fluency with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Able to work effectively as a team member and work closely with behavioral health staff, nurses, physicians, outreach staff, and other partners
- Maintain licensure and credential requirements for the state of North Carolina
- Cultural sensitivity, a caring and confident demeanor, flexibility, dependability, excellent written and verbal communication skills, high energy-level, willingness to work in a nontraditional/non-clinical setting, a professional attitude, desire to serve uninsured/underserved populations
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous medical and/or behavioral health experience in an outpatient setting
- Experience working with the under and uninsured population of WNC
- Working knowledge of farmworker-specific behavioral health issues
