OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY:
As a Maintenance Supervisor you will oversee maintenance operations using precision and preventative maintenance to maximize mill and production equipment uptime. In this role, you will be a servant leader impacting the development of craftsmen by providing coaching to ensure adherence to preferred maintenance practices to maximize efficiency and safety.
HOW YOU WILL IMPACT SMURFIT WESTROCK:
- Assist and provide direction to craftsmen with equipment troubleshooting to mitigate downtime
- Monitor and approve inventory orders to control storeroom spend according to planned budget
- Ensure compliance and proper use of parts and equipment according to preferred maintenance practices
- Oversee craftsmen’s compliance with corporate, division, mill safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Lead development and implementation of continuous process improvement of reliability plans in the mill
- Demonstrate ownership of business and management goals by effectively leading craftsmen to align on objectives
- Lead safety efforts by identifying high-risk situations, conducting safety meetings, and coordinating maintenance related safety activities
- Provide leadership and coaching in safety, training, and work allocation to uphold the standards of maximum safety for all maintenance employees
- Collaborate with operations and mechanical leaders to plan, schedule and execute daily and break-in work and to increase measured reliability metrics
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- 2-year technical degree in a Maintenance related discipline or related equivalent work experience
- 3 - 5 years of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance
- Working knowledge of maintenance techniques and equipment (i.e. pumps, valves, motors, gear boxes)
- Safety mindset with thorough understanding of safety policies and procedures
- Previous leadership experience within manufacturing environment
- Initiative to problem solve and take independent action
- Solid communication with the ability to adjust communication style and interact across all levels of the organization
- Able to exhibit a ‘can-do’ approach and inspire others to excel
- Must be organized with great time management to manage multiple priorities
PLUS:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree
- JDE application experience
