Position Summary

The Director of Footprint Optimization and Execution serves as the leader responsible for the strategic development and execution of large-scale footprint optimization for manufacturing, service and distribution globally. The incumbent will enable STERIS's transformation strategy, competency evaluation, and cross-functional optimization to drive the evolution and implementation of short and long-term strategies across the Enterprise. In this role, the team member will serve as a key advisor to the business units for core competency evaluation, and industrial footprint strategy. This function will be responsible for standardization of footprint optimization processes across all business units at STERIS.This role will include 30% nationwide travel and 15% international travel.

Duties

Build a vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for large-scale footprint optimization.
Responsible for developing standardization and coaching leaders on the coordination, implementation, control, and completion of projects while remaining aligned with the strategy of the Business Unit leaders.
Responsible for the joint implementation of major footprint projects (optimization, green and brownfield expansions) with the Business Units.
Define and deliver the approach to footprint and competency analysis leading to proposal and recommendation of industrial strategy projects across the enterprise.
Champion a culture of innovation and operational excellence with a focus on continuous improvement.
Develop and utilize lean processes to implement strategic footprint optimization, footprint growth, and development.
Assist in the development of Capital Expenditure plans to maximize return on investment.
Manage the cross-functional, cross-business design and development plans on-time and to budget.
Define actionable items for roadmap and execution in order of priority and potential positive impact to the business while considering available resources, Customer requirements, and other business factors.
Facilitate cross-functional communications across business networks for shared technology needs, practices, and solutions.
Develop and implement methods to monitor and measure effectiveness of implementations; lead corrective actions as applicable.
Lead the evaluation and budgeting of footprint strategies that align with company priorities such as quality, capacity targets, productivity enhancements, core and non-core competencies and efficiency.
Prepare or assist businesses with preparation of capital requests necessary for implementation. Plan and prepare annual budgets as needed to assist the business units.
Attract, retain, and develop strong talent. Mentor, coach, develop team members, develop, and retain key technical and leadership skills, foster strong team performance to deliver on the roadmap and meet Customer / business requirements.

Required Experience

Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electronics/Electrical, Mechatronics) or related technical field. Master's degree (MBA or Technical) strongly preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in process improvement in a Lean environment, including at least 5 years in a leadership role managing facilityfootprint optimization (including greenfield and brownfield sites) and associated projects.
Demonstrated knowledge and implementation of strategies to optimize footprints across a global network.
5 years' experience with developing standard work using continuous improvement/lean practices.
5 years' project management and reporting experience.
Demonstrated positive impact to the business that translated to clear, bottom-line results by implementing step-function changes.
Experience with and demonstrated skills in analyzing business needs, determining appropriate solutions and/or opportunities, developing lean implementation strategies, and deploying them.
Successful experience with effectiveness across multi-functional/multi-organizational areas.

Pay range for this opportunity is$121,430.00-$163,464.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.

Employees are covered by an employee assistance program (also available to household members) and long-term disability. Full-Time Employees are also eligible for short-term disability. Full-time Employees will also receive Paid Time Off (PTO) based on years of service and paid Holidays. Part-time employees working 20 or more hours receive a pro-ration of the full-time PTO allocation and paid Holidays based on their standard hourly work week. Full-Time employees are eligible for four weeks of paid parental leave. Part-time employees also receive paid parental leave, pro-rated based on their standard hourly work week.
