Description of Work Unit | The C. Wayne McIlwraith Translational Medicine Institute (TMI) is operated under the Department of Clinical Science (College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences) at Colorado State University (CSU). The Institute provides a safe, secure, state-of-the-art facility for faculty, scientists, and staff for collaborative efforts in the area of research, entrepreneurial business development and continuing medical education aligned to the institute’s mission and vision. The TMI is a 130,000 sq. ft. building that opened in December 2018. The CSUVetCE team @ TMI seeks to provide an unparalleled continuing education (CE) experience every day; something that we refer to as “CE Elevated”. We believe that people, animals, and the planet can be improved when inspired learners, engaged educators and relevant learning experiences collide; that is the purpose, the passion and the why behind our quest to provide CE Elevated experiences each day. Our team is comprised of 3 pillars of stakeholder experience:
We host up to 80+ courses each year including a wide variety of small animal, equine and human continuing medical education courses to graduate veterinarians, certified technicians, and medical professionals throughout the year. We are a small, but rapidly growing group and now is a great time to jump aboard the CSUVetCE team for the right person. In our busy times, our team can have a series of 7-day work weeks; the responsibilities for which we work as team to distribute amongst ourselves. |
Position Summary | Position is responsible for assisting in the coordination of the Continuing Education (CE) program at the Translational Medicine Institute. The position will be responsible for assisting the CE Events & Hospitality Coordinator and team in all aspects CE program execution including frequent, timely, courteous, and efficient communication with internal (other members of the CE team and TMI community) and external stakeholders (course participants, instructors, sponsor/vendors, etc.). In brief, this position in conjunction with the CE Events & Hospitality Coordinator set the tone for all aspects of the internal and external CE Elevated experience. Additionally, this position will assist the CE Events & Hospitality Coordinator in logistics/planning/scheduling of instructional sessions and event coordination and the in-person experience for all CE Course visitors and stakeholders. This position will be primarily responsible for in-person events, meetings, and courses.
Hours: Full-time position that will include shifts beyond normal business hours and on weekends; non-business hour responsibilities are shared amongst CE team members. Working during holidays and surrounding days is not an expectation for this position. Travel is not an expectation for this position. |
