POSITION DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES
The person in this role may work remotely within India, EMEA, or US regions or onsite at an India, EMEA, or US-based Medtronic facility.
· The person in this role must adhere to the following schedule, outlined by location for your reference:
o India (IST): Monday - Friday, 5am – 1:30pm
· Onboarding/training will comprise the first few weeks of employment; during this time, shifts may flex 2-3 hours earlier or later, depending on training material being covered.
· Your participation in weekly team meetings is mandatory:
o Meeting #1:
§ US (CST): Tuesday, 8am
§ India (IST): Tuesday, 7:30pm

A DAY IN THE LIFE
The Network Security IT Technologist is a member of the Network Security product team within Global IT Connectivity and Data Centers and is critical for securing the Medtronic computing environment and preventing security-related issues. This person is responsible for the implementation of Global Security Office policies in Firewall and IPS platforms. They will work with Medtronic employees, customers, Global Security, approved vendors, and Connectivity team members to design and implement security policy around infrastructure and applications. They will be using business analysis skills to capture requirements along with technical skills to build the solution.
This role will be responsible for the following key processes and activities:
Firewall rule implementation for customer requests for applications and infrastructure hosted on-prem, Hybrid Cloud and Cloud
Firewall and IPS infrastructure platform design, planning, installation, monitoring, testing, technical analysis and support
Experience with Checkpoint Firewalls
Operational support including participation in an on-call rotation
Maintain standard operation procedures
Typically provides guidance, coaching and training to others
MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)
High school diploma (or equivalent) and 2+ years of experience with network security and firewall technology
NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)
Previous Medtronic experience
Cisco Firepower IPS Experience
NSX-T Firewall Experience
Understanding of Cloud Security controls and Cloud architecture
Experience working with network hardware and designs
High degree of ‘learning agility’ with the ability to readily consume and apply new information and concepts with developed analytical problem-solving skills
Knowledge in technical modeling, design, and concept generation
Excellent leadership and teamwork skills
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong collaboration and influencing skills
Strong communication skills, including with employees, customers, senior management and vendors
Solid presentation skills, including the ability to translate data concepts and technical information into business terms (e.g., ability to explain complex technical solutions and architecture strategies to non-technical resources)

Work experience in the Medical Device Industry, or other regulated industry
Ability to mentor and develop business, architecture, and technical resources

CISSP Certification
