We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team at Black Horse Tavern & Pub. The Assistant General Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant, maintaining high standards of quality, service, and guest satisfaction.

 

 

 

 

What You'll Do:

 

 

Operations Management:

  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, staffing, and inventory management.
  • Monitor and maintain quality standards for food, service, and cleanliness to uphold the restaurant's reputation for excellence.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

 

Team Leadership:

  • Lead by example, providing guidance, support, and training to front-of-house and back-of-house staff to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Schedule and coordinate staffing levels to meet business needs while controlling labor costs and maximizing efficiency.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members to encourage professional growth and development.

Guest Experience:

  • Interact with guests to ensure their needs are met and address any concerns or issues promptly and courteously.
  • Foster a culture of hospitality and guest satisfaction among staff, emphasizing the importance of delivering exceptional service with every interaction.
  • Monitor guest feedback and reviews, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance the overall dining experience.

Financial Management:

  • Assist in developing annual budgets and financial forecasts, working to achieve revenue and profitability targets while controlling expenses.
  • Analyze financial reports and key performance indicators to identify trends and areas of opportunity for operational improvement.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and revenue-generating strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining quality and service standards.

What You'll Need:

  • Previous experience in a leadership role within the restaurant industry, preferably in a full-service dining environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, staff, and management.
  • Proficiency in restaurant management software.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including inventory management, cost control, and menu development.
  • A passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
