Order#: NY1527887 Highway Laborer Part-Time Summer Seasonal Highway Laborer May through September The Town of Victor has a part-time opening in the Highway Department for a Seasonal Laborer, working from May through September, 2025. Job duties include: Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Assists with installation, maintenance, repair and cleaning of highway components Assists in construction, patching and grading of roads, and installation of new sidewalks Assists in grounds maintenance activities Directs traffic on road projects, installs and assembles, sets up or removes roadwork signs Willing to work overtime when necessary Ability to follow instructions and work under direct supervision Knows and utilizes the safe use of tools and equipment, including consistent and proper use of personal protective equipment Repairs mailboxes, installs sign or fence posts, and assembles, sets up or removes road signs Operates a pick-up truck or other light vehicle safely and responsible for the delivery of supplies or messages, collects trash and rubbish, picks up dead animals for disposal Operates motor equipment safely as a trainee under direct supervision Assist the mechanic with equipment repairs, and service equipment by adding fuel, coolant and lubricants Salary is $22.48/hour. Amount of hours are estimated at 40 hours/week, dependent on scheduled projects each week. Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid NYS drivers license.
