Deputy Project Leader
**Ability to Obtain & Maintain Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) Clearance Required**
The Deputy Project Leader provides technical & administrative information to others working on a project to ensure that the work complies with all maintenance, construction and general engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instruction. Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
Position Summary
- Run day-to-day operations of multiple projects (initially the Energy M&S at USAG-Ansbach and EUCOM Mission Command Center M&S at USAG-Stuttgart) focused on the administrative side of the preventive and corrective maintenance project (logistics/procurement, subcontracts, financials, personnel management, base/building access, computerized maintenance management system data management, and project scheduling) for a team of technicians and support staff which are based on project workloads for preventive and corrective maintenance service orders
- Identify corrective maintenance service orders, change orders and ensuring effective resolution
- Price, track and manage service orders / change orders
- Plan and monitor cash flow against cash expenses
- Maintain as-builts as work is completed
- Document project issues/conditions
- Plan and execute project completion and punch list
- Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize organize and accomplish your work
- Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications
- Research and compile submittals; pricing change orders and prepare estimates for partially designed projects by finishing the design and preparing a complete project estimate
- Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems
- Communicate with people outside the Company, representing the Company to customers, the public, the government, and general contractor representatives
- Clearly understand the timeliness required for decision making, submission of RFIs, and documentation of all verbal conversations or agreements
Education & Experience Requirements
- Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; ability to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) clearance is required
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or Industry related degree with five (5) to seven (7) years working on government or commercial projects
- Related Facilities Operation and Maintenance experience with five years' working for an electrical or mechanical contractor or government organization
- Experience working on facilities operations and maintenance projects ranging from $500,000 to $10M a year
- Experience working with contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendums, specifications, change orders, RFIs, submittals
- Must have strong interpersonal and writing skills and be a problem owner/solver
- Proven ability to effectively plan and organize one's own activities or the activities of others
- Proficiency with Computers including MS Office, Blue Beam, and PDF
- This position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle. Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance to our policy
- Ability and willingness to travel 20%
- Must be willing to work on M.C. Dean, Inc. projects anywhere in the operating area, may be required to travel to project international locations for short-term duration
- Position is in Germany. Candidate must be willing to relocate and must possess the ability to obtain work authorization to live and work in Germany
- Must be available during regular work hours of 0730 to 1630 and also be available/"on-call" for emergency situations which may arise during non-regular work hours
