Job Overview: Performs routine security duties in protecting public buildings and grounds or other public property; performs related duties as required. Under general supervision, the duties are routine and require the use of judgement in protecting property and responding to emergencies. Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the principles and practices of building and grounds safety and security precautions Ability to respond effectively to emergency situations Ability to learn and enforce security procedures and regulations Ability to learn the layout of an area to be guarded Ability to perform routine, unskilled maintenance tasks Ability to follow oral and written instructions Qualifications are: Nassau County residency required Continuing possession of a valid Drivers License issued by the State of New York Continuing possession of New York State registration as a security guard issued by the New York State Department of State Candidates must have completed 8th grade NASSAU COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT IS NOW HIRING!
