ELKHART COUNTY GOVERNMENTAL POSITION VACANCY NOTICE

Maintenance Technician

DEPARTMENT:                         Elkhart County Buildings and Grounds

2023 HIRING RANGE:             $24.51-$27.24/hour based on education and position related
                                                  experience. Longevity pay after 3 years.

2024 HIRING RANGE:             $26.71-$29.68/hour based on education and position related
                                                  experience. Longevity pay after 3 years.

POSITION TO BE FILLED:      ASAP

HOURS & DAYS OF WORK:   40 hours per week

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:     Within County (please complete driving page on application)

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing general maintenance for County buildings and grounds, maintaining proper heating/cooling functions of County buildings, and repairing and preventive issues on boilers, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other building systems in County buildings, and monitoring operational factors of building operations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or G.E.D.
Possession and ability to maintain license in plumbing, electrical or HVAC systems or 5 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical or HVAC systems maintenance and repair
Working knowledge of troubleshooting equipment and appliances and plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry work and locksmithing functions
Knowledge of department safety policies and procedures and ability to apply such knowledge to a variety of interrelated processes, tasks and operations
Must be 18 years of age and have a valid Driver’s License
Pre-employment background check and drug screen
